70s Early Years
Born in Cadore, Luigi Da Rin entered the eyewear scene in 1976 as a representative on the Italian market.
In 1978 he moved to an acetate factory as product manager where he learned everything about the production of acetate frames;
There he meets Robert La Roche (Viennese designer with whom he will work later, exclusively for many years.)
and many other people of important companies such as Brendel, Viva, Avangarde, Optikslip with whom he will have collaborations.

The spirit of the 80s
From 1982 to 1986 he worked in "Charme Lunettes", the De Rigo Group factory, in this period he created and designed the "Police" collection in the early years.
In 1982 he founded "Rotes Optical" which dealt with the production of frames.
From 1983 onwards he collaborated with Robert La Roche for the design and production of eyewear, with three partnership factories where he produces 90% of the frames sold by La Roche in the world both in acetate and in metal for a quantity of 600,000 pieces per year.
He was the exclusive distributor in Italy and Spain with the company "Ellerre Diffusion".

90s The way of design
In 1994 he decided to take his own path, focusing more on eyewear design, he founded "Gigi Studio", collaborating with several big brands and big companies in Europe, America and Asia.

In the last twenty years he has collaborated with several major brands and large companies all over the world, in Europe, America and Asia collaborating in the design of materials such as acetate HD with Okia and continuing to collaborate with Mazzucchelli who produce acetate materials.
He has had collaborations with companies such as Eschenbach, Randolph Engineering, Fielmann, VonZipper, Mondottica with whom he has had several collaborations (among others in the Shanghai Tang in 2005), Arts for which he followed the Fiorucci-China brand in 2004-2005 ;

In particular in the design of eyewear he worked with INFACE from 2006 to 2016;
- Has worked with BBiG in children's eyewear since 2009 to present;
- Collaborated with TAVAT from 2012 to 2020 in the collection SoupCan;
-He collaborated with L.A. Eyeworks, long-time acquaintances, between 2010 and 2016.
